On April 13, President Trump shared an AI-generated image on Truth Social seemingly depicting himself as Jesus.
In the now-deleted AI image, the president showed himself healing a man, surrounded by recognizable American symbols like the Statue of Liberty, the American flag, Border Patrol agents, and government buildings.
After seeing this post, it’s easy to say that Donald Trump misrepresents his role as president.
By publicly posing himself as Jesus or some other religious figure, Trump interprets his presidency as a form of divine authority rather than a temporary officeholder bound by democratic limits.
This matters because the president’s position should be treated as a civic responsibility, not a spiritual calling. He should view himself as a server for American citizens and not as a divinely chosen figure.
In the image, it was specifically the touch from Trump on the unnamed man that symbolized a sort of holy authoritative figure, showing imagery associated with worship and religious capabilities rather than democratic leadership.
And the suggestion that a president can fix the challenges of American citizens with a single touch presents an unrealistic vision of political abilities.
Trump has since acknowledged the substandard post, and claimed he posed as a doctor, a statement not many people are falling for.
Overall, the kind of imagery the president shared yesterday was delusional, and it shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Presidents should present themselves in ways that reflect service, humility, and constitutional responsibility, and the imagery Donald Trump applied to himself simply does not represent the role of a president well.
