Boston Richey Has Been Accused of Using A Strap-On, But Don’t Forget His Criminal Accusations Too!

1–2 minutes

Last week, Florida rapper Real Boston Richey was accused of physical assault, kidnapping, and sleeping with teenagers by his ex-girlfriend Tatiana Charles.

Despite Richey being accused of having sexual relationships with minors, physical abuse, and kidnapping, these allegations are being overlooked because of speculation about his sexuality.

It seems negative attitudes toward same-sex attraction, especially in men, are so strong that they can distract people from more important flaws or actions that a person makes.

Because topics tied to identity often provoke strong reactions, they dominate discussions more easily than most allegations alone. In this case, Richey’s alleged use of sex-toys attracted a high amount of attention and shaped the narrative even when it was the least important accusation and is unrelated to his alleged criminal and harmful behavior.

Instead of commenting on allegations like assault or kidnapping, some viewers were so hyperfocused on Richey’s sexuality that they instead questioned and speculated about his sexual orientation.

Richey has since responded to the numerous accusations in an 11-minute video posted to Instagram and X. He denied Tatiana’s claims essentially saying her allegations are retaliatory after their breakup.

“It hurt when a m***** f***** can just sit right there and bash you and put a false narrative out on you.” Richey said. “This what it all come down to ‘cause we broke up.” Richey added.

The Florida rapper briefly addressed the strap-on allegations suggesting that the toys were instead used on different women he had sexual encounters with.

Regardless, out of all the accusations Tatiana made about Richey, a disappointing amount of focus is on his sexuality and sexual history.

Society would be better off if attention focused less on Boston Richey’s sexuality and more on the possible evidence behind the serious allegations against him.
